This term, our Year 11 students delivered a compelling Arts Award performance, blending scenes from DNA by Dennis Kelly with abstract movement sequences inspired by the play’s core themes. The piece explored the complexities of friendship—how it can be supportive, but also, at times, toxic.
Performed to a small invited audience, the work combined naturalistic dialogue with atmospheric lighting, music, and expressive physical theatre. This powerful fusion of elements created an immersive experience that captivated viewers from start to finish.
Audience feedback was hugely positive. One attendee shared, “The performance made me feel like I was part of the story,” while another commented, “I liked the switch between the abstract movement sections and the naturalistic dialogues. I found this really caught my attention.” Others praised the production values, with one saying, “I loved the lighting and the atmospheric music.”
The performance forms part of the students’ Bronze and Silver Arts Award, and we are incredibly proud of the creativity, commitment, and maturity they demonstrated throughout the project. Congratulations to all involved!
