Newhaven School links with Smile of Hope Charity to provide further support for all its students.
Much like Newhaven School’s core vision and values of TRUST RESTORE ACHIEVE Smile of Hope believes every child deserves a happy and healthy childhood, regardless of their background or circumstances ‘Because every child deserves hope’.
The charity’s main aim is to provide educational, healthcare, and mentorship programmes to children with life-limiting conditions or who are in general need by partnering with local organisations and communities. Working together to create long-term solutions brighter future.
Smile of Hope is working closely with Newhaven School to provide a variety of programmes and services to support children and families, including arts & craft, healthcare support, mentorship opportunities and community outreach events.
So far Newhaven School have received funding and support from the Smile of Hope Charity through a generous donation of £1,000 for students to choose something they would like improve in the school to benefit them directly. This is currently being discussed through our Student Voice Groups and both sites will announce their intentions shortly.
The charity is also donating £4,000 to King’s Park to purchase their own stage and hire extra seating for a range of events this year culminating in the second Autism’s Got Talent Show 2025. Which we know will be a resounding success.
As we welcome the support of Smile of Hope they have asked us for your support. If you have any unwanted items, (clothes, knick knacks, books, crockery, paintings, records, CDs, furniture or toys) that you would like to donate to the charity then they would really much appreciate it and this will help fund further support across the borough.
