Our First Coffee Morning!

newhaven school coffee morning

Our first Coffee Morning with our Assessment Centre parents, as part of the Stronger Connections Programme, was a wonderful success and an important step in strengthening relationships between school and families.

Parents and extended family joined us for a relaxed and welcoming session where they had the opportunity to meet members of staff, connect with other families, and share their thoughts and experiences.

The morning encouraged open conversation, mutual support, and meaningful collaboration, reflecting the core aim of the Stronger Connections Programme — building trusting relationships that enable us to work together to support our students’ wellbeing, development, and success. We would like to thank all the parents who attended and look forward to creating many more opportunities for families to connect with and be part of our school community.

“When a child is going through difficulties, trauma or crisis often parents are forgotten leaving many angry, exhausted or hopeless about the future. Creating an informal space for parents to meet in a non-stressful environment to help build communities and nature a caring environment where difference are our strengths rather than division. A space where parents can be examples of hope and resilience to one another fostering good community spirit.”

“I had such a wonderful time and it was really nice meeting the other parents and sharing our experiences. I felt I am not alone, and it is not just my child and family the goes through bumpy roads.”
