On Monday 21st October students who had expressed an interest in getting into the construction industry were taken to the live construction site of the new Woolwich leisure centre.
We had the chance to put on 5 point PPE and get on site to have a look at how the new leisure centre is developing. This was a great opportunity for students living within Greenwich Borough to see what they would soon be able to use themselves.
Whilst on site we got to see in action, and speak to, various different trades from dry liners to crane drivers and labourers to project managers.
This visit was a great insight into the opportunities available to our students, especially within the local area. Students were also told about apprenticeship opportunities and how they could apply for work experience.
