King’s Park students were thrilled to welcome Shaun and Chris from the world-renowned London Symphony Orchestra for a special morning of live music and conversation.

The musicians shared fascinating insights into their work—including the fact that much of the background music we hear in video games like Minecraft has been recorded by the LSO. Shaun showcased his skills on both the clarinet and saxophone, while Chris wowed students with the trumpet. The visit was filled with curiosity and enthusiasm, with students asking questions such as, “How long have you been playing your instrument?” and “What made you choose the trumpet?”

The session included a wide-ranging musical programme, from Puccini to The Spice Girls, and even favourite Disney soundtracks. Students responded with great energy and interest, enjoying the chance to engage directly with professional musicians. One student said, “I liked the clarinet because it reminded me of Squidward!” The visit offered not just an unforgettable performance, but a real insight into the life of professional musicians and the joy of live music.
