There were plenty of ways for Kings Park students and staff to celebrate World Book Day this year.
From bringing in your favourite book or object to dressing up as a character from a game, a show or a book, the focus was on having fun and finding a creative spark.
Planning for the day is great mental exercise. It develops ideas as you explore possibilities. It opens conversations and makes connections.
There were questions and comments throughout the day: ‘Who are you?’, ‘Where did you get the green wig’, ‘Which cookie are you?’ and ‘This is probably a horse leg bone.’
The celebration of reading continues at Newhaven with book giveaways, tee-shirt and bag decoration and a scavenger hunt in library lessons. And special book toppers on the canteen cupcakes.
