Newhaven Gardens
Thank you for your patience and dedication. You have been amazing in supporting my child’s learning and development in school. Not every day was a good day, but you have made the impossible, possible! I appreciate all the effort and time you all spent getting her to the end of this journey.
Newhaven Gardens Student Parent
Welcome to Newhaven Gardens
Newhaven Gardens is a pupil referral unit for KS3 and KS4 students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from a mainstream school.
Pupils are referred by the borough or from the Fair Access Panel. Pupils always start their Newhaven schooling in the Assessment Centre where they can have a thorough assessment of their needs and strategies are created, and shared with staff, to help them successfully complete their schooling. At this point some students will return to mainstream whilst others will stay with us in the Gardens.
Our aim in the Gardens is to provide students with a genuine second chance to receive their education, complete exams and move onto the next chapter of their lives at a college, an apprenticeship or mainstream 6th form.
Staff at Newhaven are highly skilled practitioners, who work hard to provide outstanding lessons and pastoral support for students. We have a range of external professionals who add specialist knowledge to our team ethos. Newhaven is always an interesting place to study and work.
Please feel free to contact us for further information.
