King's Park
My daughter has had an amazing, life-changing journey here and I want you to know how brilliant they are! Communication is fantastic, the service (including therapy) and education they provide adapted to the pupil is on another level, and the empathy and genuine passion for pupils to do well is above and beyond.
King’s Park Student Parent
Welcome to Newhaven King's Park Campus
Newhaven King’s Park is a specialist provision for Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 students with a diagnosis of autism, an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) and an enduring mental health condition. We understand that many of our students may have experienced trauma or face ongoing mental health challenges, and we recognise that a significant number will have worked with or are currently supported by CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services). That’s why we provide an environment tailored to individual needs, with dedicated staff working closely alongside external professionals to ensure each student receives clear, structured support to help them thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
At King’s Park, we are committed to the Newhaven vision and values of Trust, Restore and Achieve. We aim to support all of our young people through our bespoke curriculum and planning to develop independence, manage emotional regulation, and build strong social communication skills. To support learning, we use visual schedules to create clear, predictable routines and aim to minimise change as much as possible. At the same time, we work carefully to equip our young people with the skills they need to adapt and succeed in an ever-changing world.
Our broad and enriching curriculum includes a staged approach to qualifications, as well as hands-on experiences such as Forest School, work experience, and collaborations with outside companies. Students also benefit from a wide range of activities, including sports days, school trips, visits to galleries, and engagement with guest speakers and creative projects.
Above all, we strive to create a safe, thriving community where every student can feel valued and free to be their authentic selves. We recognise the disadvantages often faced by people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and are dedicated to empowering our students and their families to advocate for equality and inclusion.
We know that no website can fully capture the spirit of our school. Whether you are a prospective student, parent, or professional, we warmly invite you to get in touch and learn more about what makes Newhaven King’s Park such a special place.

A letter from a King's Park parent
For everyone,
It’s been a journey! There should be a sign above the threshold of entry saying, ‘EVERYONE, WELCOME!’ That is how you made us feel.
On the occasions we found ourselves waiting in reception, every member of staff passing through acknowledged our presence with a smile, a hello or both. We have only met and interacted with a few but we know that everyone would be involved with the students in some way.
The school is bricks and mortar but inside incredible things happen by the incredible people who care for the students. Your approach is phenomenal with outstanding results.
We have seen you fight for your students to get them what they need and seen that, most, really do not like to be told ‘NO’. It shows to be an effective policy.
You enveloped one of our most precious people, showing him kindness, consistency and great care, eventually winning his trust. You saw his potential and he came on in leaps and bounds. We do not know what the future holds for him but you have given him possibilities and choices. The groundwork done by you is extensive and runs deep.
You all do such an incredible job every day. Facing daily challenges, some fighting the system with vigour and persistence. Your passion is evident and successful.
We wish you all the very best with all of your future endeavours both at school and home.
A simple thank you for everything you have done seems so inadequate but it is all we have.
A motto for the school should be this… CURAE NOS QUIA TE MATERIA
