Garden Site Purpose

To educate KS3 and KS4 students who are at risk of, or who have been, excluded from mainstream school. Our primary function is to re-engage students in their learning in order that they can re-integrate back to mainstream school or Post 16 education or training.

All students have the option to study English, Maths, Science, Citizenship, Health and Social Care, ICT, Food Technology, Art, Textiles, PSHE and Sport.

Externally accredited ex

ams and/or qualifications are offered in all subjects to all age groups. These include GCSE, BTEC and AQA awards.

All college courses lead to externally accredited exams which are GCSE equivalents, and students are supported by Newhaven staff when attending college.

Additional courses and qualifications are offered to students including: First Aid, Preparation for Working Life, Fitness and Health and many others, enabling students to leave Newhaven having had the opportunity to develop and experience a range of different activities and skills.

KS4 students are offered work experience and all students benefit from an on-site Connexions Personal Advisor to assist and advise them in careers and Post 16 choices and applications.

All students are encouraged to complete homework and have access to additional work through the VLE.
