Dear parents and carers,
I hope this email finds you well. The return to school certainly started very well but we are finding that whilst most are doing really well, some students are finding it difficult and attendance for them has dropped off. Please continue to do everything you can to encourage your young person to be in school and talk to us if this is proving difficult.
School is and has been incredibly positive and safe with lots of high quality work going on in lessons. I’d like to thank the staff at this point for their particular efforts over the last few weeks. They really are doing a good job.
We have not had any positive cases of Covid-19 in school since our return. An important part of this is the self-testing by staff and students. Please be aware that we will be giving your child another box of kits to bring home over the break. They do not need to test all holiday but please make sure they take a test the weekend before the return to school. If they are positive, you will need to inform us and they will need to isolate for 10 days. Online and home learning will be provided during that period. We will discuss the details of this with you if it happens. Also, if you are required to isolate and this means you are unable to work and so lose earnings you may be entitled to claim £500 from the test and trace payment scheme. Please let us know if this applies to you so we can provide a letter detailing the details regarding the self-isolation of your child. More information can be found here:

Free school meals
We will not be providing free school meal vouchers for all this holiday. For those who are eligible for free school meals the council are providing codes to collect money at the Post Office. Full instructions are contained in the letter attached. We will also be delivering meal kits to all students entitled to free school meals who want them at the start of next week and you can all pick up free lunches for kids from the council throughout the holidays. Finally, have a restful break, stay safe and we look forward to seeing your child in school every day next term!
