Dear Parents and Carers,
KS3 and Year 10 Parent/Carer’s evening
We have an academic progress evening for parents and carers of key stage 3 and year 10 student’s on the 11th May from 4pm until 6.30pm. This will be a chance to talk to subject teachers, mentors and tutors about how well your child is doing and what they can do to improve their progress. I have been really impressed with your children nearly all of the time and I’d like you to hear how well they have been doing and some things they can do better.
Strike Action
Re the upcoming strike action. We are in a position where this looks likely to continue as the government are currently not negotiating with the unions. The next strike is next Thursday 27th April 2023. This is normally a college day for most students and due to staff shortages we will be closed for the day unless your child needs to be in school particularly. Mentors and tutors will be calling to confirm this.
For the strike on Tuesday 2nd May 2023, we will be opening for Year 11s and 6th formers who will follow their normal timetable as much as possible with some revision sessions where staff are not available.
Bank Holidays
I’d also like to remind you that there are two bank holidays coming up where the school will be shut on Monday 1st and Monday 8th May.
Yours faithfully
Jon Kelly (Headteacher)
