Continued closure of KS3 at King’s Park

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is with great regret that I am emailing to tell you that I have made the decision to continue the closure of KS3 at King’s Park until Monday. This is because we have continued to have staff start isolating this week and at the moment have 8 staff out due to this. As I’m sure you have seen on the news, getting agency staff is very challenging at the moment and even if we could, this is not often effective for your children. I have also been looking at transferring some staff from other parts of Newhaven but am now facing similar absence problems there.

I am aware that it is difficult for you as parents and we are doing our best to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. Assuming staff are well enough to return after their isolation periods and no further significant amounts go off, we will be open on Monday. I will further update you if necessary. In the mean time, please contact the school if you wish to discuss any of this.

Yours faithfully,
Jon Kelly (Headteacher)
