Dear Parents and Carers,
Arrangements for strike action Wed 15th and Thurs 16th March
I am emailing to remind you that Newhaven will be affected by strike action next Wednesday and Thursday. The school will not be open except for:
- Year 11s and 6th formers who have mock exams. This is English from 9-10.45 on Wednesday and Maths from 9-9.30 on Thursday. If students have extra time or arrive late they may stay later than this. After they have completed their mocks most student will go home.
- Some year 11s and 6th formers may be asked to stay for longer to complete coursework that is outstanding. Their tutor or mentor will be in touch with you if it affects your child.
- Any other student who has to be in school for reasons of mental health or safeguarding. Please contact the school if this affects you.
Please remember that whilst the strike action can cause difficulty for us, it is not only for pay but also for the improvement of your child’s education in a context when the school finds itself under considerable financial pressure.
